Iceland ambassador commissions water sources

The ambassador of Iceland, Thordis Sigurdardttir, has commissioned six spring wells constructed and 50 boreholes rehabilitated by her government in a function held at Nahaiga village.

Under the programme dubbed Namayingo District Development Programme for fishing communities (NDDP-FC) Iceland provided funds for the construction and rehabilitation of boreholes and spring wells to support access to safe water.

Thordis said her government is committed to ensuring that communities get clean water.

The Iceland delegation monitored the progress of the construction of Busiro primary school. They also visited Bumeru primary school where they interacted with pupils.
